The people behind 10 minute novelists
10 Minute Novelists is run by a group of volunteers from across the globe.
Ian Hugh McAllister was born in Wallasey, Merseyside in November 1960. Married to Simone since 1982, they have one son, Stuart, who arrived as a bit of a surprise in 1993. They have lived in Dorset since 1985.
Ian has enjoyed a lifelong passion for airliners. A keen plane spotter, he fulfilled his childhood ambition by joining the UK Civil Aviation Authority in July 1980 as an Air Traffic Control Assistant. He was involved in training, line management and was a Flight Planning specialist. Prior to early retirement in 2014, his day (and night) job was Flight Information Service Officer, one of a close-knit team providing the on-demand “London Information” service to aircraft flying outside the UK airways system. He also trained as a Critical Incident Stress Management Defuser.
In early 2015 Ian was appointed as the English Administrator at 10 Minute Novelists. In August 2018 he was MC at their first live conference in Cincinnati, and hosted the on-line conference in 2021. He took on the new role of Lead Admin in the Fall of 2021.
After some success with the biography of his swimming pioneer grandmother (Lost Olympics, 2012) Ian turned to his passion for SF. He has always been an avid science fiction reader, preferring the so-called ‘hard SF’ genre of books based in possible science over those dealing in pure fantasy. In July 2018 he released his first book in the genre, based on an original idea which had been kicking around in his head for twenty years. He is a regular contributor to the Cloaked Press collections Spring Into Scifi and Fall Into Fantasy.
Sheri L Williams is an author who laughs in the face of genre. She always knew she would be a romance author one day, until she found the macabre that lives in her heart and her brain. Equally as comfortable in her own imagination as she is in the real world, she finds inspiration everywhere. Her stories range from light to dark, then very dark, but always with more than a touch of romance.

She is a founding member of 10 Minute Novelists and Unleashing the Next Chapter. When she’s not writing or coaching fellow authors, she can be found at her home in Oklahoma City with her husband and two daughters. She loves llamas and labyrinths and curling up with a good book.

Andrew M. Ferrell is a lifelong fantasy and science fiction lover who lives in NorthEast Wisconsin with his wife and three children, plus a cranky old one eyed shi-zhu named Jedi.
